I thought a re-branding was meant to breath new life and excitement in to a product line. You must give Pepsi 'style' points for making the attempt, although that clearly wont make up for the fact that sales of the Tropicana Pure Premium line plummeted 20% between Jan. 1 2009 and Feb. 22, 2009 costing the brand roughly $33 million, to $137 million. - clearly a little market research would have cost less.
Tropicana had certainly sought to create excitement around the Pure Premium re-brand, announcing Jan. 8, 2009 a "historic integrated-marketing and advertising campaign ... designed to reinforce the brand and product attributes, rejuvenate the category and help consumers rediscover the health benefits they get from drinking America's iconic orange-juice brand.
On Feb. 23, 2009 the company saw the light and announced it would scrap the new packaging, designed by Peter Arnell.
I think the real question we should be asking is... did PepsiCo get a refund?

Busy Days, New Things!
Well, well it is finally rolling forward! I have been terribly busy getting the new nogginwok site up and going. For those of you who don't know... nogginwok is the first of it's kind, nogginwok is leading the way for creative 2.0. what does this mean exactly? Well, in short nogginwok is a source for agencies involved in creative work, where they can have one source for all their creative needs.
I have designed an interactive platform, a social networking tool if you will that allows agencies to have an endless pool of creative minds at their fingertips, on projects as simple as business card design to the most complex web applications. This is not a play on words, this is for real.
Agencies no longer need to employ an entire creative department inside the walls of their company. They simply use nogginwok, I recruit new agencies, manage projects, and the creatives working on the projects. And the agencies see results.

Brand Suicide
Sure has been hard to get back to the ol'blog. With a new baby in the house and a workload that just wont quit.
When I saw the new Pepsi brand I knew it was time to speak up.
Please keep in mind it is still so new to me, that I am having a hard time deciding if this is brand suicide or if I am just experiencing the side effects of true innovation...
Simply put, I've tried to understand it, I've looked at it, and thought about it, I looked at it upside down, but I just don't get it.
Do You?
Here is what Pepsi has to say about their new brand http://www.pepsigallery.com/

What's on the menu for Creative Lunch Today?
With Halloween just around the corner, I was thinking about masks, and costumes and this inspired me to write about being real and genuine, and how it effects our creativity.
Being genuine will build healthy relationships with people who admire or at least appreciate someone really being genuine with them. These relationships are critical to our success as creative people. You are free to express your likes and dislikes and best of all you don't have to spend a lot of time maintaining your "front" allowing you to use that energy more productively.

Creativity is a way of being, seeing, acting and doing, not just making art. When you are not real and genuine you are isolating yourself from others. Creating in isolation means you lose out in two ways. First, no-one gets to enjoy, appreciate and be inspired by your "real" work. Second, you miss out on the incomparable feeling of knowing that just a few words of genuine encouragement or a sharing of struggles has lead to someone else having a breakthrough in their own creativity and happiness.
Behind every story of long lasting success is a genuine, real person.

The Creative Lunch
So I decided to start a weekly tradition for Creative Fruit, and I am going to call it "The Creative Lunch", It will be short little posts about creative yummyness. Usually I will be writing these during my lunch, I promise I will try not to type with my mouth full. Remember lunch is about conversation too, so don't just sit there and feed your face comment back!
So what's on the menu for Creative Lunch Today?
Inspiration
All creative people require inspiration. Whether you are a graphic designer, Illustrator, photographer, or writer. The Web is a breeding ground of new ideas and collaborative resources. Use your search - look around, check out what other creatives are doing.
When you find that source of inspiration you will know it! It feels like this... but on the inside.
Until we have Creative Lunch again remember chew then swallow, not the other way around.
Please comment and let me know what inspires you today!
